Environmental Impact Assessments
'Environmental impact assessment' (EIA) describes a legislative procedure that must be followed for certain types of project before they can be given 'development consent'. The procedure is a means of drawing together, in a systematic way, an assessment of a project's likely significant environmental effects.
The emphasis in EIA is on the systematic analysis and presentation of information in a form that enables the importance of predicted effects and the scope of modifying or mitigating them, to be properly evaluated.
Partrac manage and undertake the principal components of an EIA with input from specialist consultants. We employ the skills of ecologists, landscape architects, economists, hydrometry specialists and others to undertake specialist studies utilising rigorous methodologies, in areas such as:
- Assessment of need
- Planning
- Marine impact
- Air quality
- Hydrology & hydrogeology
- Geology, soils & land use
- Ecology
Managing the project team and consulting with stakeholders we help the client achieve the most sustainable, environmentally sound and cost-effective solution, producing clear, concise and comprehensive environmental statements.
